Big Love, Season 3 Approaches
I know there are things I should be doing instead . . . solitaire, filing my nails, soduku, but I keep watching old episodes of Big Love getting ready for season 3, starting Jan. 18th at 9pm. Hooray! With no Heidi to occupy my tv obsessions, I have to return to my favorite band of polygamists, introduced by Em & Jose over dinner a few years back.
The Hendricksons of Utah have a marriage that is as dysfunctional as any on TV, just a few more wives to contend with. Think of it as “The L Word” meets “American Beauty.” Sweet, complicated, and in these folks’ case, illegal. The folks “back on the compound” are my favorite – Lois, Wanda, and, in a way, Nikki. They cling to “the principle” while racking up the credit card debt and stabbing each other in the back like every other meat-eating, gun-toting American.
Check it out, but do your homework, seasons 1 & 2 are pretty fun!
My Programs . . . and other things I say that make me sound like my Grandmothers

So get in on the fun. What words do you utter that instantly make you feel 93 (current age of my grandmother)? This can also be a behavior – as in, in my Aunt Julie’s words, ” I feel like my mother during pocketbook activity” . . . ie: rooting for hours in search of lipstick, glove, gum, butterscotch . . .
