How Bad Could It Be?

. . . to tell a work story now and then?  Goodness do I have stories. All I really seem to do is work these days, so it’s all I have!

Nah, It’s just not worth it.  I would be tempted to add pictures, and that would be a gateway drug to angrams of names . . .

But I did go to a conference on Saturday that had a session on blogs that I will write about.  The presenter was pretty low-tech.  She admitted to only texting herself.  But she had learned from blogs the way kids will write in the future.  It won’t be in a “report” “narrative” “memoir” kind of box, she said.  Their writing will have links to songs, artwork, videos, poetry, friends, research.

Unlike this entry.

My job, to start to find ways for them to do this in school.  Again. . . how bad could it be?

Yikes.

Back to writing about food and books and Long Island.

Happy Holidays from the Nonblog

I know. I almost went to black. Posting 1x a month does not a blogger make. Check out the blogroll for some folks with real chops. But Happy Hanukkah, Merry Christmas, Happy NewYear. And it was a great one, and I just couldn’t blog. For the same reason I forget to take pictures.

But here is one I did manage to take on my cell phone. It’s an important part of family history. 5 cousins, one aunt, and all significant others had an amazing time in NYC. If you have to relocate from home, do it near NYC, since EVERYONE comes here a lot! Site: Churrascaria. Afterparty : Bubble Lounge

We have 2 amazing months of visitors ahead, starting tomorrow, and it will just feel like the holidays never end, hooray! I love it, even though I know folks are coming mostly to see the Sailors play. Record? 4-3! And climbing, starting again tomorrow night.

Perhaps I’m not a blogger after all? But not quite ready to give up.

Got Married.Woohoo!

Non-blogging honeymoon.

Setup House, try to sell house, try to buy house.

Trying to sell and buy 1 car.

Setup Job in most confusing way possible – details next week.

Ok, ok, then there’s trips to the beach, Mets games, US open trip, off to ADKs this weekend.

So, once I’m back in action, do I need to change the name of my site? If so, to what?

Sorry, this is the best I can do today. Maybe in a month or so things will be less “under construction.”

Flipped the Bird

Yup, just over the Throg’s Neck. Welcome to LI. Now, I know I was weary, only semi-signaled, and didn’t really know if I was in the right lane, but come on buddy! Gimme a break!

So my new blog idea is this: Road Rage Recovery. People can go on and atone for their sins. I would have apologized if I had his cell number, or one of those police megaphones on my car. Instead, my half-wave was probably interpreted as my own obscenity (he WAS passing me at high speed on the right – a hanging offense upstate).

So here goes, man in white shirt, with little silver car, who I cut off on the Throg’s Neck bridge, I’m sorry, Man.

Breaking News! Blog Doubles Readers!!

Invited 3 new readers today, bringing grand total to 6. Very slowly creeping out of my blogging cave.

More experienced bloggers, why doesn’t my tagline show? It allows me to type one in, but doesn’t publish it. Under LI Bound it should say “Notes From Both Sides of the Planet New York.” Is it because of the presentation I have chosen? I like the colors and hesitate to change it.

Anna & Rush, can you hear me? Will you find me without me even telling you how? This feels like geocaching to me, heading out into the woods with little direction, hoping to find goodies, that probably aren’t that valuable anyway (my posts, not yours). It will take time. Testing, 123
